Gladys Susan Farthing

Born in Peterborough Ontario Canada on November 24'h , 1945 to Annie and Arnott
Farthing. Raised in Peterborough she immigrated to the US in 1975, getting a job with the
California Department of Motor Vehicles spending several years in the San Diego area
before taking the DMV Manager's job in Tuletake in 1985. Sue continued as the DMV
Manager untiI her retirement in 2003.
Sue spent the next fifteen years tiving in Tuletake white traveling the wortd on cruises from
the Caribbean to Alaska to Europe. She dearty loved a good cruise. She atso bought a Can
Am Spyder motorcycte, the one with two wheets in the front, and began her motorcycte
journey. She went on multiple "Spyder" runs over the years and these runs became a large
part of her summers.
ln 2017, thinking of slowing down, she moved to Florida to the Advent Christian Village.
She lived in the village for several years before determining that she really didn't want to
slow down and she bought the first of several recreationaI vehicles and hit the road. With
her "Spyder in tow she crossed from Florida to California several times. For the last several
years she spent a majority of her time in Mississippi and Florida.
Sue's Christian beliefs and her faith in Jesus were a cornerstone that she drew her strength
from. For the last two years her health kept her from riding her Spyder and doing much of
what she enjoyed but she held fast to her RV life until the end. She went home to her Savior
on January 20th, 2026.
